Indotek Group specializes in real estate investments, managing a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, and hospitality properties from acquisition to sale. Through its own residential development projects, it has become a key player in the Hungarian residential real estate market. Our expertise in private equity and the management of real estate-secured bank loans ensures maximum returns on investments through strategic legal and business insights. A major milestone in our private equity investments was the acquisition of an ownership stake in the Hungarian Auchan chain and the obtaining of its operational control.

Indotek Group considers sustainability as a value-creation process through which aging or underperforming assets are transformed into high-quality properties by means of renovation, repositioning, and change of function. Its long-term turnaround strategy is fully aligned with modern environmental and sustainability standards, and expectations. This operating model is more resource-efficient than developments involving the complete demolition of old buildings and the construction of new ones. It requires less embodied energy, reduces waste generation and carbon footprint, extends the lifecycle of buildings, and overall results in a lower environmental impact.

Country Management

dr. Hegedüs Gábor

Portfolio Management Director, Hungary

Gábor oversees the Hungarian portfolio management activities of the Indotek Group. His responsibilities include asset management, property and facility operations, as well as sales and operational management. He joined the company as the Head of Property Management, and with an expanding scope of responsibilities, he played a key role in building the group’s Hungarian retail property portfolio and shaping its operational structure. Previously, he held senior positions in the banking sector, including serving as project finance head at FHB Bank. His main areas of expertise include project and real estate financing, as well as selected M&A transactions.

The start of the INDOTEK story.

2000

Consulting and Real Estate Servicing: Facilities management, property management, asset management, bookkeeping, and accounting services to support real estate companies.

2002

INDOTEK expands its portfolio through acquisition, becoming the market leader in B and C-class industrial real estate in Hungary.

2006

The Company’s portfolio begins to grow as we start managing investors’ funds, attracting our first co-investor partners.

2008

2009

INDOTEK remained liquid during the economic crisis due to strategic, well-timed property exits, followed by the establishment of its first fund management Company.

2010

INDOTEK launches its first fund, secures US Bohemian as a key investor with a 33% stake, and raises capital from institutional
investors, begins acquiring assets from liquidation proceedings.

2014

The Company purchases its first shopping center.

2016

INDOTEK enters the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) market.

2017

2020

First investments in Southern and Eastern Europe Entry into Spain, Portugal, Romania, Croatia, Poland, Greece, and Italy, marking a significant expansion across Europe.

2021

Private equity launch and strategic growth. Indotek launches its Private Equity division, making key investments, including acquiring a stake in Waberer’s.

2022

US Bohemian Group’s stake is successfully bought back. A large fund is allocated for real estate developments.

2024

Following successful exits from Waberer’s and Alteo, Indotek acquired 100% of Auchan Korzó and a 47% stake in Auchan, a leading multinational retail chain and secures management rights.
