Diederik Bakker to lead the Group’s investment, transaction and asset management activities
Indotek Group has appointed Diederik Bakker as Group Chief Investment Officer and Group Head of Asset Management, effective 1 June 2026.
Operating across 12 European countries and through a network of seven regional offices, Indotek Group continues to strengthen its investment, transaction and asset management capabilities to support its next phase of growth. Following a multi-month leadership transition and integration period, Bakker will gradually assume responsibility for the Group’s investment, transaction and asset management activities.
The ITAM function, which Bakker will gradually take over, plays a key role in Indotek Group’s value creation strategy, portfolio performance and international growth. The function oversees and coordinates the Group’s investment, transaction and asset management activities across the organization, supporting both the active management of the existing portfolio and the further development of the Group’s institutional operating model.
Indotek Group operates a fully integrated platform with in-house investment management, asset management, property management, facility management and development capabilities, complemented by dedicated non-performing loan and private equity businesses. In the coming years, a key focus will be the further development of strategic partnerships and joint venture structures, as well as strengthening the Group’s institutional investor relationships.
"Indotek Group is now a real estate investment and asset management group with a presence across Europe and activities in several real estate segments. In the next phase of our development, the question is no longer only which markets we are present in, but also how consistently, efficiently and competitively we operate. What sets Indotek apart is its ability to see value where others don’t — in overlooked assets, complex situations and markets in transition. That entrepreneurial mindset, combined with the ability to act quickly, has been one of the key drivers of our success. Diederik’s role will be to help apply that capability more consistently across the Group while supporting our long-term growth ambitions and strengthening operational excellence.” – said Dániel Jellinek, Founder, CEO and majority owner of Indotek Group.
During the first six months following his appointment, Bakker will work closely with Indotek Group’s management team, gaining a detailed understanding of the company’s operations, colleagues, portfolio and processes, while gradually assuming broader responsibilities within the organization.
"Indotek Group is a distinctive market player: from a Central European background, with an entrepreneurial mindset, strong in-house capabilities and a flexible decision-making culture, it has built a significant European presence within a decade. Few companies combine this depth of local market knowledge with the ability to act quickly across markets, and this is exactly what makes the role attractive to me. My role will be to build on this strong foundation by supporting sound investment decisions across Europe and developing a group-level portfolio management strategy that combines local market knowledge with international asset management know-how," said Diederik Bakker.
The Dutch real estate investment professional brings more than 25 years of international experience across the logistics, residential, office and retail sectors. During his career, he has held senior leadership positions at UBS Global Asset Management, LaSalle Investment Management, Orange Capital Partners, Multi Corporation (Blackstone) and Europa Capital (Mitsubishi Estate), building extensive expertise in institutional investor relations, capital raising, international transactions, portfolio management and the leadership of cross-border teams. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Head of Asset Management at Europa Capital.
Based between Vienna and Budapest, Bakker will work closely with the Group's leadership team to help shape investment strategy, enhance portfolio performance and support future growth opportunities across Indotek Group's European markets.
